Seasoned Government Relations Strategist, Drew Littman, Joins Solazyme Team

Littman brings more than 20 years of leadership experience to renewable oil production company

South San Francisco – September 19, 2011Solazyme, Inc.(NASDAQ: SZYM), a renewable oil and bioproducts company, announced today that Drew Littman will lead the company's Washington, DC office.   Littman is a seasoned Washington veteran, who has served in top posts in the US Senate, in addition to advising a number of prominent corporations. Bringing a unique skill set of policy expertise and leadership, Littman will join the Solazyme team and serve as the company’s Vice President for Government Relations. 

Drew Littman brings more than 20 years of government experience to his position. Most recently, Littman served as chief of staff to U.S. Senator Al Franken of Minnesota, acting as the senator’s primary advisor on all legislative, policy and press initiatives. Littman also served as a top aide to U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer of California. In addition, he was also a  principal at Podesta Associates where he worked with clients such as MPAA, Genentech and GE Capital.
