Transatlantic Green Tech Awards Recognize Leading Innovation of Bay Area Tech Start-up
South San Francisco, Calif. – July 16, 2008 – Solazyme, Inc., a renewable oil production company and leading synthetic biology company that harnesses the power of microalgae to renewably produce clean and scalable high performance biofuels, “green” chemicals, edible oils and health and wellness products, was one of two companies selected to receive the first ever Transatlantic Green-Tech Awards at the sixth annual World Investment Conference held in La Baule, France. Solazyme was the only U.S. company to receive the honor, which was presented to green-tech companies showing the most promise for future innovation and viability.
Solazyme was chosen for the award from a group of carefully selected, leading U.S. companies in the clean technology space by a distinguished 10-member jury. The award criteria included innovation, technological excellence, capacity of internationalization, maturity of development, growth and market potential.
