Jonathan S. Wolfson
Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Wolfson is a co-founder of the Company and our Chief Executive Officer. Prior to founding Solazyme, Mr. Wolfson held a variety of positions in finance, business and law including at Triarc, and serving as co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of InvestorTree. Immediately prior to Solazyme, he was the Vice President of Finance and Business Development for 7thOnline, a supply chain software company.

Mr. Wolfson sits on the board of the Clean Economy Network, a green business advocacy association. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) and is on the governing board of BIO’s Industrial and Environmental Section. Mr. Wolfson also serves on the Executive Council for the Advanced Biofuels Association (ABFA). In September of 2009, Mr. Wolfson accepted the “Green Leap” award from the Clinton Global Initiative for his commitment to commercializing Solazyme’s breakthrough technology for renewable oil production for fuel and for food. He is also an inventor on five of Solazyme’s patent applications.

Mr. Wolfson holds J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from the NYU School of Law and the NYU Stern School of Business. Additionally, he spent several years as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Economics at Hunter College of the City University of New York.

Harrison F. Dillon, Ph.D.
President & Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Dillon is a co-founder of Solazyme and our President and Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Dillon is a thought leader in the renewables field, sitting on a number of Advisory Boards. He is an inventor on over 30 of Solazyme’s patents and patent applications and he oversees Solazyme's extensive IP portfolio.

Dr. Dillon’s scientific training in the field of microbial genetics began in the Microbiology and Immunology Department at Emory University. His later research was performed in the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Utah, where he received his Ph.D. in genetics. Dr. Dillon went on to manage the biotechnology patent portfolio of the University of Utah in the University’s Technology Transfer Office. Dr. Dillon received a J.D. from Duke University School of Law and is licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He’s a member of the State Bar of California and was an Associate in the Biotechnology Group at Townsend and Townsend and Crew. Dr. Dillon has authored articles in scientific, business, and legal journals.

Tyler W. Painter
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Painter has served as our Chief Financial Officer since October 2007. From 2001 to 2007, Mr. Painter served as VP Finance/Investor Relations and Corporate Treasurer for Wind River Systems, a public software company that has subsequently been acquired by Intel (NASDAQ: INTC). Prior to joining Wind River Systems, Mr. Painter held a variety of positions in finance at CarsDirect (NASDAQ: INET), an online automobile sales company, and at Gap, Inc. (NYSE: GPS), a retail clothing company. Mr. Painter obtained Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. He is actively involved with a number of professional affiliations, including the Association of Financial Professionals and the National Investor Relations Institute.

Paul T. Quinlan
Senior Vice President & General Counsel

Mr. Quinlan has served as our General Counsel since May 2010 and as our Secretary since June 2010. From 2005 to 2010, Mr. Quinlan was General Counsel at Metabolex, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company. From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Quinlan held various positions in the legal department at Maxygen, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAXY), a biopharmaceutical company, most recently that of Chief Corporate Securities Counsel. Prior to joining Maxygen, Mr. Quinlan was an associate at Cooley LLP, a law firm, and Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, a law firm. Mr. Quinlan obtained a law degree from Columbia University Law School and a M.Sc. in Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto.

Peter J. Licari
Executive Vice President, Technology

Mr. Licari is our Executive Vice President, Technology. Dr. Licari has over 20 years experience in biochemical engineering and bioprocessing. From 1998 to 2008, Dr. Licari served as Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Operations for Kosan Biosciences, a biopharmaceutical company. From 1993 to 1996, Dr. Licari served as the Director of Vaccine Manufacturing and Development at Massachusetts Biologic Laboratories, a part of the University of Massachusetts, an academic institution. Prior to joining Massachusetts Biologic Laboratories, Dr. Licari had a variety of research positions at BASF and Merck & Co. Dr. Licari obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology and obtained a M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.

Rogerio Manso
Chief Commercialization Officer, Tailored Oils

Mr. Manso has served as our Chief Commercialization Officer for our tailored oils technology platform since July 2011. Mr. Manso's responsibilities encompass global commercialization of our sugar-to-oils technology across the entire value chain from feedstock through customer development and product distribution. Prior to joining Solazyme, Mr. Manso served in various leadership positions at Petrobras throughout his 28-year career at the Brazilian oil and gas major, with a robust record in the development of markets for Brazilian oils and oil products in the US, Latin America, Africa, Asia, and other key international markets. He became Petrobras' Downstream Director and member of the Executive Committee, with responsibility over Refining and Marketing, Petrochemicals, Transportation and Logistics, where he implemented a multi-billion US$ refinery investment program. Among others, Mr. Manso served as a member of the board of directors of the chemical companies Petroquisa and Copesul (now a part of Braskem). He was also a member of Petrobras' R&D Committee, of BM&F Bovespa's Sugar and Ethanol Advisory Board, and Chairman of the Board of joint-venture refinery Refap S.A. and TBG, Bolivia-Brazil's gas pipeline.

After leaving Petrobras in 2007, Mr. Manso joined the start-up Brazilian Renewable Energy Company-Brenco, now ETH Bioenergia, as the Executive Vice President of Commercial and Logistics, and later became its Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Manso has an undergraduate degree in civil engineering, and earned an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business.

Frederic Stoeckel
Senior Vice President & General Manager, Health Sciences

Mr. Stoeckel is Senior Vice President, Health Sciences at Solazyme. Since joining the company in February 2010, Mr. Stoeckel has led the development, launch and marketing strategy for Algenist, Solazyme's microalgae-based luxury skincare line. Algenist is now available in over 1000 stores worldwide including Sephora, Sephora inside jcpenney, Space NK, QVC, and The Shopping Channel.

From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Stoeckel served as Vice President, Marketing & Merchandising at L’Occitane, where he headed the department for the US market. Shortly after, he served as Managing Director at Melvita, a new certified French organic skincare brand by L’Occitane. He managed the US launch strategy for Melvita and implemented the full range of operational marketing strategy until 2010.

Prior to joining L’Occitane, Mr. Stoeckel held a variety of marketing positions at L’Oreal Group (Euronext: OR), and most recently was the Vice President of Marketing at Lancome France for 4 years. He led the Lancome operational marketing division including trade marketing, direct marketing, media, website, and merchandising, where he defined and implemented the marketing and communication strategy across all product segments for all of the retail channels.
